DOFUS [Dofus]
Just like the post before this is also something like “the best of 2008″. At least for me.
One of the many games that I tried during the past year was DOFUS. I must admit that my first impression of the game wasn’t the best one.
I got to know DOFUS because the fellows at Ankama send me a press release about the new server for the Portuguese community (Brazil and Portugal).
The problem with many MMORPG is the language: English. Although this choice of language will reach a greater range of players, also draws away a lot of players who do not speak or feel comfortable with English. So increasingly MMORPG offer servers in several languages.
This is the case of DOFUS. The Portuguese server of this game was launched during April 2008 and quickly achieved success among the players who speak Portuguese (Brazilian players in particular).
As for me after two months I was playing in the international server and completely abandoned the Portuguese speaking one.
The game concept is not different from many existing ones. But if it works why change it?
But DOFUS has a unique look. Is inspired in Manga characters and the design team did a great job at it. And is entirely based on Flash that gives him a big advantage over other titles out there as it runs in almost every computer (new or old).
There are 12 characters and 20 professions. For a player with some experience in RPG it’s easy to identify the choices to be made and the professions to follow but for a beginner it’s not so easy. But at least with this diversity you can not become bored.
It’s a fun game and well thought. Has an excellent gameplay and the combat engine is very well made. Here again DOFUS presents something different, where tactics in battles are also important. It is not enough to have a strong character and well built. The tactical ability can (and it will) also make a difference.
Finally I wanted to emphasize the great solution to avoid a common problem in MMORPG: lag. When the computer detects having some lag it changes the design of the characters from 3D to 2D images, which almost solves the problem immediately. When the problems passes the graphics go back to normal.
I enjoy playing it and continue to do so. In free to play mode you can have access to a restricted area. Those who want more have to pay to have access to updates, new sites and other content. 5,00€ per month is after all a good deal.

Dofus é realmente viciante e também foi uma surpresa para mim no meio de tantos jogos online do género. No entanto, para pessoas de Portugal ou do Brasil que prefiram jogar em inglês, é dificultada a entrada em servidores que ofereçam essa possibilidade. Ainda não consegui entrar em nenhum desses servidores, já que só me é dada a hipótese do Spiritia, o servidor “português”… é uma pena, já que nem me importaria de o jogar como P2P…
Há alguns servidores internacionais (Solar, Rosal e Rushu) e o servidor de morte permanente (Oto Mustan).
Todos estes servidores aceitam jogadores de todo o mundo. Tens é de quando estás a criar uma personagem, na parte inferior esquerda escolher um novo servidor.
Por vezes algum desses servidores pode estar momentaneamente cheio e tens de esperar um pouco.
Quando tento escolher Rosal por exemplo aparece-me o aviso de que certos servidores estão restritos a determinadas comunidades e rejeita a minha escolha..

Alguns servidores só aceitam jogadores com subscrição e não são gratuitos apesar de serem internacionais. Não me lembro agora se é esse o caso do Rosal. Tenho de ver depois.

Por SMS pode-se comprar 7 dias de premium. As instruções então em http://www.dofus.com/ na parte das subscrições. Pode-se até comprar vários códigos por SMS e usar para ter logo mais de 7 dias de cada vez. No entanto o preço é muito mais caro que pagando pelos outros métodos (como por exemplo o Paysafecard ou o VISA).
Queria saber como pagar pelo VISA ou Paysafecard, se a levelupgames bloqueia u.u
Em Portugal não temos esse problema e pagamos directamente à Ankama.
Penso que no Brasil o pagamento tem que ser feito à Levelup, mas não tenho a certeza.
Tenho uma pergunta qual o sever sujerido pra jogar dofus e dofuse um jogo para diversos windowns sera que roda no windows seven utimate?
O Dofus funciona com base no Adobe AIR (a versão anterior do Dofus funcionava em Flash). Como tal o sistema operativo do computador é irrelevante desde que tenha instalado o Adobe AIR.
